#9. Hidden Ocean on Enceladus

Last year, astronomers confirmed the 1,000th exoplanet, raising the hope that life may be common throughout the universe. But exoplanets are far, far away. There is still much to discover right here in our own solar system! In April, astronomers announced the presence of a liquid ocean under the surface ice of Enceladus, a moon of Saturn. Though the chances are still slim, this finding increases the likelihood of detecting life in our own cosmic backyard.
