One Naughty Greek Lamp
In terms of sexual freedom, the ancient Greeks were about on par with the Romans. Greek physicians actually recommended intercourse as a remedy for depression, indigestion, jaundice, lower back pain, and weak eyes.
The artifact above is a molded pottery lamp depicting a rather scandalous scene of fornication between a woman and a horse. Though manufactured in Athens between 250 and 300 AD, this piece may have actually made its way to the home of a wealthy Roman.
