 AP Photo Last week the EC controversially ruled that manufacturers could not advertise bottled water as helping to prevent dehydration because the claim was not backed up by clinical evidence. Although scientists insisted the ruling was technically correct, it was widely ridiculed and compared to other embarrassing edicts from Brussels including the so-called "bendy banana rule".
